Not everyone loves their job. Sarah Kagenski is one of those exceptions.
"It's absolutely the right choice for me," she said.
Which is why trading in her old classroom so she could teach online wasn't hard. She was just happy to still be teaching kids math.
But keeping things interesting for the kids was a little challenging at first.
"To make sure my lesson was sinking in and that they weren't getting left behind," said Sarah.
Until she nailed it.
She started making videos on Tik Tok
"I take songs that are popular on Tik Tok and I replace the words with math topics that we're learning about," she said.
She said it's an idea who's time has come.
"Hey, if you can memorize this and have this stuck in your head for days, you can totally memorize my song. My version of it," said Sarah.
She seems to be right. Her songs are gaining popularity.
"I have a lot of students who say, you know my mom is singing your songs, or my little sister is super interested in watching you," she said.
Her bosses over at the Texas Virtual Academy at Hallsville love her creative approach.
"Being able to incorporate that into my classroom and my lessons has been really beneficial to my students," she said. "I've been able to connect with them based on things they like."
She also found that she wasn't alone on Tik Tok.
"I found an incredible community of teachers on there," said Sarah.
Sarah said no matter what her teaching journey brings next, she'll keep singing for as long as she can.
