A woman was arrested after police say she assaulted a man in a fight over chicken.
Just before 4 p.m. Feb. 10 Oklahoma City police were called to the Wyatt F. Jeltz Senior Center, 1225 N. Kate Avenue, in regards to an assault. Arriving officers found the male victim with a laceration to his upper lip and swelling and a separate laceration on his right jaw.
The victim told police that 69-year-old Shirley Freeman had come to his residence. The man offered Freeman a piece of chicken but she allegedly wanted all three pieces that he had. When he wouldn't give her all three pieces, Freeman allegedly hit the man in the head with a coffee mug.
Freeman was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on a complaint of assault and battery.
