Thursday marks three years since 26 lives were lost at the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs.

The church plans to mark the somber anniversary by ringing the church bell 26 times at 11:25 a.m. on Thursday.

"There will be no speakers or service, just a somber, prayerful time of remembrance that #evildidnotwin," a post reads on the church's Facebook page.

Church leaders state they hope the bell ringing remains a tradition on this year "for generations to come."
