SAN ANTONIO - As residents across the state continue to brace themselves for the historic wind chill hitting Texas, the White House has approved Texas' Emergency Declaration.

Just a couple days after Governor Greg Abbott issued an emergency declaration, President Joe Biden approved the order and will be deploying federal assistance to supplement state and local response efforts from the resulting weather conditions.

In other words, the President's actions authorize the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to organize disaster relief efforts and alleviate hardships caused by the emergency on the local population.

This is a developing story.
